Baby Shower Time Capsule – Free Printable
You know that dear friend that you would do anything for? The one you’d stay up for all night thinking about their baby shower and how you can make it rock? Well, I have one of those friends. She was due to have her 3rd baby and I wanted to do something super special and creative for her. I wanted to do something that would be long lasting, and memorable. That’s when I started thinking about time capsules. What if I created a way for folks that come to the shower, the folks that love my sweet friend the most, to write a note of encouragement, a prediction, and a memory from the shower down and stick it in a sealed jar…with the caveat that it may not be opened until the child’s first birthday? Yeah, sort of mean, but sort of awesome at the same time. It turned out to be a hit and I’m happy to say, you can download the editable (Illustrator) art here! If you don’t have Illustrator, no worries. You can snag it in my etsy shop here for $2.50 and I’ll set it up for you!
A couple of notes:
If you don’t already have it, you can find the font, Moonflower, on dafont.com. This font is amazing. You’ll thank me later.
I chose a standard size mason jar and hot glued some ribbon around the center to match the shower theme colors. Then I cut into a circle and glued and some construction paper to the top of the lid. Next, I cut a little more construction paper out to sit behind the Time Capsule label and glued both of those to the front of the jar (see photo above).
The notes for the time capsule are designed 2 up on an 8.5″ x 11″. So you’ll need some scissors handy to cut them in half.
The label for the Time Capsule is approximately 1.5″ x 3″. If you go with a larger mason jar, you can print the label at a higher percentage (change this in your printer settings).
Voila!
